18+ restriction rules

After receiving a concerned message from one of our members about the easy access of under 18's to the adult section and adult chat (after 10pm WST), I have decided to introduce new rules to restrict minors.

We have new rules:

By joining the adult section, you accept that you are over 18 years of age and it is your responsibility to inform us if you need to be removed from that section.
By joining the chat after 10pm WST, you accept that you are over 18 years of age and it is your responsibility to remove yourself from the chat if required.

These rules have been added to our forum rules and chat rules. If you have any queries about the changes to the rules, please contact me in private message and I'll gladly respond.

Yu-Gi-Oh Cards Discussion Thread

Ok, so I just recently decided to get back into Yu-Gi-Oh cards, because while sometimes confusing, it is actually a damn fun game. Getting back into it involved getting the 2011 World Championship DS game 2nd hand, as well as boosting up my random 60-odd cards from a while ago with the recently released Dragons Collide Structure Deck. Anybody else play Yu-Gi-Oh cards around here, any what cards/strategies do you use?

Calendar + meetup changes

Hi guys.

If you visit the calendar, there are 2 links at the top. Add event and add meetup. Please use those buttons for finding the correct calendar for posting events.

Meetups are no longer on the default calendar! They have their own special one that is used in the sidebar (and other areas of the website).

Sorry 'bout the confusion sugarcube!

In the future I really want to develop the meetup/calendar section of the website and make it more useful. Eventually I hope it'll be the primary source of details regarding meetups (instead of bloody Facebook).

I would like some feedback for the sidebar. Please tell me if you use it, how useful it is to you, what you don't use and what you would like added or changed.

At the moment it has 8 parts

I'm considering stripping the sidebar down or removing it completely depending on if its really that useful.

New Toy Release Dates - Cadance, Shining Armor, Celestia and Luna

New toys are being released! This is unconfirmed, but somepony's got in contact with Hasbro Australia and had some dates for upcoming toys given to them. We're looking at getting:

- Princess Cadance (the talking one, a la this video) due June

- Shining Armor and Princess Cadance Fashion Style Set, exclusive to Big W and due in October

- Princesses Celestia and Luna, Fashion Style, exclusive to Target and due June.

No word as of yet on the Lyra, Zecora, Trixie and Nightmare Moon toys we saw at the Toy Fair a few months ago. Here's hoping we get them before Christmas.

I have about....10 or 12 supply crate keys in my inventory right now and I need to get somepony elses's fingerprints on 'em before the cops come searching.

This Saturday, log into the server and just play TF2. MVP for each round gets a key. Simple

You can't win more than one key and you can't get a key by coming in second place to a guy who already won a key, cause second place is for losers.

So i need a new Mat. and what better way to welcome visitors into my home than with Ponies!

So i found a place online that will do custom mats. (700mm x 450mm) But i am no good at art here is my first attempt at doing up a mat

here are the limitations i was given.

- All lines/strokes in the design are best if they are a minimum of 10mm (8 pixels).
- The thickness of a logo or text that is a light color on a dark color background
must be a minimum of 7mm (5 pixels).
- The thickness of a logo or text that is a dark color on a light color background
must be a minimum of 4mm (3 pixels).
- Text should be a minimum of 50mm (40 pixels) tall.
- Gaps in between letters should also be 10mm (8 pixels), 5mm (4 pixels) is the
minimum where required.
- Logo should begin 50mm (from the edge of the mat, or alternatively borders at
the edge of the mat should be 50mm (40 pixels) in thickness.
Text legibility is improved by using highly contrasting colours.
Any white outlines around logos should be at least 7mm (5 pixels) wide.
All fonts should be converted to curves.
Colored borders around the edge of mats must be a minimum of 50mm wide

Hello, I'm new to Bronies Australia, joining just last night. Though infrequently, I sometimes dabble in digital drawings. University keeps me busy most of the time, but about once a month I'll have the time to complete one drawing. And considering the amount of time it takes me to complete anything, I'm a little bit sad they haven't been viewed that much. So I make this 'personal' thread to solicit views, comments and criticisms. I'd like to hear what I can do to improve. My tools of the trade include an optical mouse, OpenCanvas for sketching and Paint Shop Pro for vectors.

The first picture (deviantART link) is a simple one of my pony, who I named Wilby.

The second one (deviantART link) is the same character done in the style of TehJadeh's Two Sides Project (with her permission). I'm sure most of you will have seen some of hers.

I'll add more as I do them.

How can I motivate myself to get a My Little Pony Happy Meal?

As you al know, recently, the My Little Pony Happy Meal came out in Australia. I came so close to getting one, but I chickened out 4 times. I had decided that I would get a Happy Meal only if other adult men at the same McDonalds were doing so as well. However, no one was. I decided to come back later. After I decided to go back, my imagination plucked up the mane 6 and Derpy, motivating me. When I got back there, there were parents with little girls, who were most likely going to get what I was getting: a Happy Meal for girls. I felt guilty, as if by ordering a Happy Meal for girls, I would be taking what rightfully belonged to the little girls in the queue. Again, I decided to come back later. In my imagination, Rarity respected my decision to let the little girls have what was theirs, but the other ponies were dissapointed that I chickened out again. I decided that when I did order, I would say the toy was for my little sister, which I don't even have, Applejack told me I should be honest and say that I legitimately liked the show if I was asked why I was getting it. After I'd finished my second break, I slowly walked towards the queue, but the imaginary Fluttershy pushed me to go faster until she apologized. Once it was my turn to order, I was just about to ask for a Happy Meal for girls, but instead I ordered a medium 6 nuggets meal. The imaginary ponies were dissapointed with me. But then I remembered that there was another McDondalds on the way home where I could try again getting just the toy. The imaginary ponies continued to motivate me, especially Derpy this time. I was really determined that I would get the toy this time, but I planned to order a McFlurry if I lost the courage, and that's what I did. The lady at the counter said the McFlurry I'd asked for was her favourite to make. I was about to ask for a toy at the last moment before she gave the McFlurry to me, but I didn't. Outside of the Internet, I'm a closet Brony, and there doesn't seem to be a very big Brony community in Brisbane where I live. What can I do to motivate myself?
